The Open Championship is moving, temporarily, to August in 2028.
The 2028 Open will be held away from the tournament’s regular slot in July to avoid a clash with the Los Angeles Olympics. The major has traditionally been held on the weekend containing the third Friday in July but has been shifted into August having been due to overlap with the Games, which run from 14 July to 30 July.
